Ditto gemoftheocean. I am becoming very interested in Icons. I love this one! Our Lady of Sorrows, whose heart was pierced by our sins, so that she could share in the sufferings of her beloved Son. She was so united with Jesus, that she suffered like He did, or to the extent she could and/or that He would allow. She holds his right hand on her shoulders even now, as she suffers the deaths of babies and innocents being slaughtered daily, babies and the elderly and the otherwise "unproductive" among us. Lord have mercy! I hope to take one class and learn to write at least one icon before I pass on, God willing. This one is just exquisite.
